Hello! My name is Laura, and I would like to welcome you to this website.

I am a wife and mother, as well as the owner and editor of this site and author of, "Creating Postpartum Wellness - Natural Solutions to Banish Depression after Childbirth".

I also run a thriving hypnotherapy practice in my local town.  Yes, I do keep busy!

As a practicing hypnotherapist I have always had an interest in the different aspects of health and well-being, and how the physical and emotional aspects of a person intertwine. We humans are both physical and emotional, and one is not independent of the other.

Having struggled with depression and now the mother of a 15 year old son, there were a few key reasons that led me to create a useful resource for those affected by postpartum depression. 

To begin with, I noticed that helpful resources about postpartum depression were few and far between. Considering the enormous number of women who must deal with this illness, and the effect that it has on their families, I felt there was a lack of information and resources for these women. 

In addition, I realized that many women are ashamed or embarrassed to seek treatment – feeling they would be judged or criticized if they admitted to having this illness. My hope was that having a place for women to share their stories and experiences with a postpartum mood disorder might inspire those fighting postpartum depression to realize that they are not alone and that a variety of options are available. 

And finally, my interest in the option of a more natural approach to treatment of postpartum depression led me to the conclusion that I could help suffering women, especially those seeking a more holistic approach. 

I hope this website will be useful to all those who seek information, resources, understanding, and another choice in conquering their battle with postpartum depression.
